For Memorial Day Weekend, we went to the Phelps cabin up in Alpine, AZ. It was such a great weekend with windy kayaking (fun!), s'mores, marshmallows, a shooting range (created by my very own hubby), a snowball fight?!, some Frisbee golf, a good hike and picnic, movies on the projector, reading books and magazines, playing outside in the dirt (for the boys), Scrabble Slam and Monopoly Deal, homemade ice cream, peach cobbler in the Dutch oven, a trip to the Lollipop Shop, and much more! We had such a great time, in fact, we decided to stay an extra day.
The trip up was long and painful - Kellen threw up, Bridger had to pee 4 times (on a 5 hour drive?!), and we left so late it was dark most of the way (we saw tons of elk and almost hit a couple). But once we got up to Alpine, we had a great time and it wasn't even too cold at night. We all got sunburnt the first day, so we had to ease off the sun, but other than that - a great time was had by all.
